👉 The European Edtech Funding Report 2024
The European EdTech Funding Report of Brighteye Ventures is out. Read it to explore global and European trends and insights on EdTech deals. Key takeaways?
European Edtech continued to demonstrate resilience in 2023, maintaining a robust position with 32% of global Edtech deals done in Europe, indicating sustained growth in both deal numbers and funding amounts.
Despite an overall decrease in funding to $1.2B from the previous year's $1.9B, it still exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
The UK retained a leading position in funding and deal numbers. Notably, the Netherlands did not feature in the top 5 countries since 2020. Dutch EdTech member Lepaya got one of the biggest deals in the corporate learning space, raising 38M.
👉 Opinion Piece: Should EdTech Companies Jump on the Custom GPT Bandwagon by Alex Sarlin
Alex Sarlin weighs the pros and cons of edtech companies creating custom GPTs. Pros include an early mover advantage, ease of creation with no coding skills, and the ability to train on select data. Lead generation and branding are additional benefits. However, uncertainties surround financial rewards, limited accessibility for ChatGPT subscribers only, and challenges in controlling user interactions and end results. The advice is to carefully evaluate alignment with overall strategy and not rush into the trend. Read the full piece here.
