👉 EdTech: Europe’s Untapped Advantage — What’s the Role of the Netherlands?
The European EdTech Alliance, of which we’re proud to be a member, just released a new overview of the European EdTech ecosystem. With over 7,800 companies and 400,000 employees, EdTech is framed not just as an educational tool, but as Europe’s hidden competitive advantage. The report calls for placing EdTech at the heart of Europe’s innovation and digital sovereignty agenda — a timely and necessary shift. Read the full report here.
As one of the most active EdTech countries in Europe, the Netherlands has a unique opportunity — and responsibility — to lead by example:
Our startups are growing fast, but like others in Europe, face short runways and fragmented markets.
We need smart support mechanisms that reflect the long sales cycles in education.
Curious about the ecosystem in the Netherlands? The Dutch Edtech Ecosystem Report of 2025 will be launched in October! Meanwhile, you can have a look at last years report here.
👉 Is Europe erasing EdTech?
Concerning trends across Europe are being noticed. Education—and by extension, EdTech—is being quietly deprioritized in political and strategic agendas. This absence risks undermining funding, visibility, and policy support for a sector that plays a crucial role in addressing teacher shortages, digital inclusion, and accessibility. Now is the time to speak up and ensure that education technology remains central to shaping Europe's future. Want to know more? Read the article here.
👉 Academia-Industry Collaborations in EdTech
A recent piece by EdTech Partnerships explores how academia–industry collaborations in EdTech can drive meaningful innovation by embracing three core strategies: transparency and open access in research, precise expertise matching between researchers and companies, and dedicated training for the next generation of EdTech professionals. The piece highlights real-world examples—from co-developing tools grounded in learning sciences to generating evidence that informs both product design and teaching practices. Find the detailed file here.
👉 Product–Market Fit Isn’t a Moment—It’s a Journey
A recent piece on Product for Learning explains that product–market fit is not a single “aha” moment but a journey through five distinct stages—each demanding a different focus. Packed with practical examples, this article is for any founder trying to find (or hold onto) product–market fit in learning. Read the full article here.
