Greetings from the Dutch Edtech crew and a warm hello to 350(!) subscribers. We're happy to see that more and more of you are interested in staying up-to-date with local and international Edtech news. Rightfully so, because this helps with our ambitions towards the ecosystem and understanding more about the position of the current Edtech market.Several articles and reports highlight the current VC market in the past few weeks. What will happen with the current economic standing point and how will this reflect the investment market? It will be interesting to see what this will do with start-up growth. As Jonathan Viner mentions in his Nordic Edtech newsletter: "There’s no shortage of advice out there for business leaders at the moment. But I keep returning to this great quote from Hampus Jakobsson at Pale Blue Dot, a Malmö-based VC, who argues for a return to prioritising monetisation over growth. As he says:“We have had two to three years when all the water in the world turned into mercury and everything floated. Now mercury is turning back into water and we will see which boats are full of holes.”Let's keep looking forward and help each other thrive and stay above water in the edtech ecosystem.
